Gastrinoma는 주로 위에 있는 게 아니라 췌장과 십이지장에 빈발:

특히 췌장 두부 70% 아마도 이것이 스트레스성 궤양과의 큰 차이일듯.

Symptoms

• epigastricpain (stomachache)
• vomiting blood (hematemesis) (occasional)
• difficulty in eating
• diarrhea-위산 과다로 인해 십이지장에 다량의 산이 들어오니까 설사 가능.
• steatorrhea -췌장에 외분비 기능장애를 일으키므로 Lipase 생성에 차질-내 필기엔 Insulin.
  둘다 영향을 받을 수 있음

Laboratory tests:

• secretinstimulation test, which measures gastrinlevels in response to secretin
• fasting gastrin levels
• antral acidity

Therapy

Proton pump inhibitors(such as omeprazoleand lansoprazole) and histamine
H2-receptor antagonists(such as famotidineand ranitidine) are used to slow down acid secretion.
If possible the tumours should be surgically removed, or treated with chemotherapy.

Octreotidecan be used to slow down acid secretion.

This syndrome was first described in 1955by R Zollinger and E Ellison.<sup>[1]
